How to Create an AI Voiceover on iPhone Without Recording Your Voice
A short video, a screen tutorial or a story needs a voice. You may already have the words, but no quiet room to record them—or you may prefer to stay behind the camera.
With Text to Speech in Tau34 AI Video & Voice Studio, you can turn a written script into spoken audio on iPhone. Add your text, choose a language and an AI voice, generate the speech, then save the audio to Files.
This guide follows a real example: a short narration about taking a walk, spoken in US English by the Algenib voice. The result is audio you can listen to on its own or use as narration in a separate video-editing workflow.
What can you use an AI voiceover for?
Reels, Shorts and TikTok narration. Give a walk, recipe or product demonstration a spoken introduction without filming yourself talking. The audio can accompany your footage when you edit the video in an editor that supports the exported file.
Screen tutorials. Prepare a clear explanation separately from your screen recording, so you can concentrate on showing the actions first and narrating them afterward.
Stories and listening practice. Turn your own short story, lesson explanation or practice passage into something people can hear. A single narrator works well for a continuous passage; two-character conversations have their own workflow linked below.
1. Open TTS and add your script
Open the TTS tab in Tau34. The screen is titled Text to Speech. Add your script in Text to speak.
For this example, we used:
Sometimes, all you need is a short walk. Put your phone in your pocket, step outside, and notice the little things you usually miss. The sound of the wind. The afternoon light. A quiet street. Today, there’s no plan. Just a few minutes to slow down and enjoy the moment.
Write for someone who will hear the words rather than read them. Short sentences and clear punctuation give the narration a manageable structure. If it will accompany existing footage, keep the script short enough for the scene.
2. Choose your language and voice
Tap Choose language, select the language for your text and confirm with Select. Our recording shows English (United States) — en-US selected.
In the Voice section, tap Choose to open Choose voice. Select a voice and return to the main screen. The example uses en-US-Chirp3-HD-Algenib, shown as Male. The list also shows other US English voices, including Erinome and Sadachbia.
English is the language of this demonstration. You can select a different supported TTS language for your own script.
3. Generate and play your voiceover
Tap Generate to create speech from the text. The finished audio appears in Result, with playback controls and a Share / Download button below it.
Use the play control to hear the narration. Our example produces approximately 17 seconds of audio. That duration belongs to this script and voice, rather than being a fixed limit for voiceovers.
Listen to how names, punctuation and sentence transitions sound in your own text. If a sentence needs changing, edit the script and generate another version.
4. Save the audio to Files
Tap Share / Download and save the audio to Files on your iPhone. You can keep it as an audio passage or use it in an editor that supports the saved file format.
For a narrated Reel, Short or tutorial, add the saved audio to your footage during editing. This TTS workflow creates the spoken audio; the screen recording on this page demonstrates its creation and playback.
